Our Ofsted School Inspectors said : “St. Anne’s provides an excellent range of extra curricular opportunities. The many visitors to the school also enrich and add breadth to the whole curriculum. All the activities help to broaden pupils’ experiences, strengthen their self-confidence, encourage leadership and increase their maturity.”
There are many lunchtime and After School Clubs for example in football, tennis, basketball, tag rugby, dance, art, drama, ICT, table tennis, animation etc. These are supervised by members of staff or specialist coaches.
All children have the opportunity to take part in musical and drama performances and concerts in KS1 and KS2. Our recent performances have included:-
Eddy the Penguin Saves the World;
Romeo and Juliet ;
Minibeasts; Sleeping Beauty;
Bugsy Malone; Grease;
Twelfth Night; Oliver;
as well as our Christmas shows and Nativities.
Parents quotes: “Another fabulous performance, well done”
“Really super show – very demanding & great fun”
“All I can say is well done to the stars, the staff, the back up and everyone involved. It goes to show how well the children have been nurtured and allowed to blossom”
Many children learn a musical instrument in KS2.
We also have an independent ‘after-school’ club on school premises led by a member of our school staff which provides excellent care and fun activities for all children whose parents require after school supervision.
Our breakfast club meets from 7.45a.m and parents are welcome to drop their children at school at 7.45a.m. or join their children for breakfast. We therefore provide excellent care for your children from 7.45a.m. to 5:45p.m. if you require it.
Our Holiday Club was established in Summer ’09, it was well supported by parents from St Anne’s and other local schools. An excellent range of fun and exciting activities was provided for the children and we look forward to welcoming more children to our holiday club in October.
The After School Club had a highly successful Ofsted in September 2010 receiving a judgement of outstanding.
Our swimming pool is open in the Summer months for children to learn to swim during the school day from Reception to Y6 and for use after school and at weekends and in the Summer holiday through our Family Club.
We also provide opportunities for parents – e.g. A family literacy course has been run previously and a very successful computer courses for parents. There are very good opportunities for parents to get involved in the school and find out how to help their children learn at home.
